Who We Are
Bruce Bayne, Founder and President: Bruce brings over 30 years of experience in the printing industry in both production and management at several newspapers, web and sheet-fed plants, color trade shops, as well as with a national supply company.
With hands-on experience in graphic production, prepress production, installation, and training, Bruce brings a unique combination of experience to his work. Bruce set-up and managed the electronic publishing and pre-press functions for The Emporium (a Northwest retail chain) and successfully eliminated all outside pre-press costs including color separations.
Bruce co-founded the Pacific Northwest Color Management User’s Group. He is considered an expert by the printing industry on production workflow and color management. He was one of the first printing professionals to be trained as a GRACoL® Expert and can train GRACoL MasterPrinters™.
In 1993, Bruce started consulting for a national graphics arts reseller and in 1995 went into business for himself as a pre-press consultant and trainer. His consulting business grew and Alder Technology was incorporated in 1999.
Bruce focuses his consulting efforts on specialized pre-press application training, system integration, digital color production, PDF workflow, and process control management. His goal is to provide a service to clients that improves their bottom line and makes their daily operations more effective.
John Horn is Alder’s Color Specialist in our California branch. Horn provides training on printing, workflows and color management. He is certified by Gretag Macbeth to train on their products and create ICC profiles. He is also certified by EFI/Best, Onyx, Absolute Proof, and ColorBurst to install and train on their RIPs.
John has been working in the color printing industry for over 30 years and began his career working in pre-press trade shops as a scanner operator. He later managed several color departments and trade shops in southern California.
At the beginning of the DTP revolution John took his color expertise to one of the first software companies making products for scanning and color manipulation. He was the Product Manager for the first desktop CMYK correction software. (Before CMYK Photoshop).
As the V.P. of Product Development for one of the first RIP companies providing proofing solutions on inkjet printers, John helped create award-winning products that helped push inkjet printing to the level it is at today.
John has been a speaker for the APA, ASMP, FTA, IPA and other institutions on color control and printing.
David Archer brings over 30 years of experience in the printing industry to his position in Business Development with Alder Technology. David has a vast knowledge of industry equipment, software and best practices. He uses this experience to help customers improve productivity, cut costs and solve problems.
Prior to coming to Alder Technology, David was an Account Executive for Presstek and managed business in five western states. His knowledge of the printing industry is vast due to his 20 plus years with LDR, one of the largest equipment and supply distributors in the country, before its demise in 2001. As Director of Sales and Marketing for B&B Print Source where he was involved in branding, marketing, forecasting and sales.
In addition to his sales and management experience, David has carried on as a part-time sales trainer and facilitator. He’s worked with dozens of company owners and hundreds of sales professionals in the Graphic Arts industry. His advice concentrates on disciplines of increasing sales, exploring untapped markets, and enhancing current technologies and core competencies. He periodically writes sales oriented articles for various industry related publications. David has a degree in Visual Communications Technology and has certifications from some of the nation’s top sales training courses including 3M, DuPont, and Xerox.
Monique Tindall brings a wealth of experience to her position managing Alder’s Marketing and Customer Relations campaigns. Coming from the client side of the industry, she brings a unique view to helping customers find the right solution to create accurate color.
Monique started at GTE Northwest (now Verizon) in operations, sales and Public Relations. She then worked with the Portland Trail Blazers and the Rose Quarter doing market research, event planning and worked as the in-house promotions company called Razor Sharp Productions covering all aspects of event marketing and operations. She returned to telecommunications where she was the national Marketing Communications Manager for Electric Lightwave (now Integra Telecom) and was in charge of all marketing, trade shows, brand management and channel marketing activities. Monique rounded off her work experience at Brand Fidelity/Federal Research where she was involved with the creative and legal side of name and logo trademarks and copyrights. She has also worked as a freelance consultant helping businesses with branding, events, tradeshows, marketing materials, websites and direct mail programs.
Lynette Bayne – Office Manager
Lynette is the engine that keeps Alder running smoothly and handles all accounting for the company. She brings a plethora of experience in customer relations, procurement, project management, facilities management and financial planning to Alder. She spent over 12 years with INTUIT, the creators of TurboTax and QuickBooks, as the Corporate and Site Services Manager.
Cheryl Hopkins – Office Assistant
As Alder’s customer service representative and administrative assistant, Cheryl is ready to assist customers with orders and scheduling. Cheryl is a trained electrician and project managed large installations at local hospitals and other businesses. Due to an injury, Cheryl started her new career in customer service and office work with Alder technology.
