Xitron Blue Box Windows 11 25H2 Driver Issue (Error 52)

If your workflow depends on the Xitron USB “Blue Box” interface for plate output, you need to act now. Microsoft's Windows 11 version 25H2 includes a change that can permanently disable the Xitron USB driver — taking your plate output offline. We flagged this the moment it crossed our desk, and we want to make sure every customer using this workflow is informed and protected.

What's Happening

Windows 11 version 25H2 has changed how the operating system validates digital signatures on USB drivers. When Windows encounters the Xitron USB “Blue Box” driver, it returns an Error 52 — a signature validation failure that can permanently interrupt your ability to send plate output through the interface.

Xitron and Microsoft are actively working on a new digital signature for the affected driver, but a fix is not yet available. The only way to protect yourself right now is to act before the update reaches your machine.

What You Need to Do Right Now

  1. Turn off Microsoft Automatic Updates immediately. This is the single most important step. If Windows 25H2 installs before you take action, you may lose plate output capability.
  2. Verify your current Windows version. Go to Settings → System → About and confirm your Windows 11 version. If it shows anything prior to 25H2, you're currently protected — but keep automatic updates off until Xitron issues the all-clear.
  3. Already on 25H2 and seeing Error 52? Roll back your operating system to a version prior to 25H2 immediately and contact Xitron Support for rollback guidance specific to your setup.
